Weightlifting Wales is recognised as the National Governing Body of Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting in Wales. As an organisation, we work to develop the sport from grassroots right through to an elite level.

Our purpose is that of an active nation where Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting are foundations for health and all sports, as well as being a nation whose champions perform consistently at major international competitions.

Over recent years Weightlifting Wales has achieved significant success. Individual membership has increased, along with the number of active volunteers and athletes participation in Welsh events. Our national teams have had successes at major championships and long-term athlete development programmes are nurturing young athletes.
