As a child, I spent my long summer days in the garden making "mudpies" out of nothing but water, dirt, and whatever sticks or stones I could find. Today, that childhood play has become my metaphor for life: we often have to wade through the "mud"—the challenges, pain, and grit of our experiences—to process our struggles and eventually uncover the real joys and happiness hidden beneath the surface.
