REDSOX workshop 2026
Workshop organized by the Sensors&Devices centre of Fondazione Bruno Kessler
The REDSOX collaboration, established under the INFN acronym of the same name (REDSOX: REsearch Drift for SOft X-rays) and active from 2013 to 2015, focuses primarily on research and development in the field of large-area silicon drift chambers, monolithic drift chamber arrays, and low-noise electronics for X-ray spectroscopy and imaging.
The main applications are in the fields of X-ray and gamma-ray astrophysics, medical diagnostics, cultural heritage, and as detectors used for various analytical and imaging techniques at large research facilities that generate extremely high-intensity electromagnetic radiation (X-rays, ultraviolet, infrared) using particle accelerators, such as synchrotrons, free-electron lasers or ultra-high-energy-density pulsed lasers, and proton accelerators.
