The Public Speaking Masterclass, organised by FinanceMalta and delivered by experts in the sector, is an interactive two-day training programme designed to help professionals strengthen their communication and presentation skills in a business environment.Exclusively available to FinanceMalta members, this workshop will equip participants with the practical tools and techniques needed to deliver confident, structured, and impactful presentations. Through a combination of expert guidance, practical exercises, and peer feedback, attendees will develop the skills required to communicate clearly, manage nerves, and engage audiences effectively.The programme will cover the core foundations of public speaking, including message structure, storytelling, voice and delivery techniques, posture and presence, and the effective use of visual content. Workshop Agenda Day 108:30 - 09:00Welcome coffee and registration 09:00 – 09:30Welcome, Introduction and ObjectivesThe facilitators would outline the day’s objectives, agenda and approach and invite a selection of participants to briefly describe their public speaking challenges and typical speaking environments. 09:30 – 10:45Foundations of Public SpeakingThe facilitators would deliver a session covering the core elements of public speaking:1. Aligning content to the audience.2. Structuring the message.3. Embracing storytelling.4. Opening and closing techniques.5. Managing nerves and anxiety. 10:45 – 11:15Comfort Break 11:15 – 12:15Voice, Tone and DeliveryA practical session including impromptu speaking exercises, tone variation practice and voice projection drills. Topics would include:1. Tone vs content.2. Pace, pause and emphasis.3. Voice projections.4. Eliminating filler words. 12:15 – 13:00Appearance and PostureThe facilitators would lead a session on visual presentation covering:1. Different appearances for different contexts and audiences.2. Posture and stance.3. Eye contact and facial expression.4. Movement and space usage. 13:00 - 13:30Light Refreshments Day 208:30 -09:00Welcome coffee 09:00 – 09:15Recap: Day 1The facilitators would lead a short recap of the content covered on Day 1 and invite a selection of participants to share quick reflections. 09:15 – 10:30Presentation StructureThe facilitators would lead a session on how to transform content into an effective presentation. This would cover:1. Storytelling frameworks.2. The ‘Problem, Solution, Impact’ structure.3. Simplifying complex information.4. Using case studies.5. Aligning visual content with what is said. 10:30 – 10:45Comfort Break 10:45 – 11:45Putting Theory into PracticeThe participants would deliver short presentations in groups and receive feedback from peers (following direction by the facilitators).Feedback would focus on:1. Structure.2. Tone.3. Clarity.4. Body language.5. Presence.6. Connection with audience. 11:45 – 13:00Media &amp; InterviewsThe facilitators would lead a session focused on:1.
