Description
Jerusalem has been known for thousands of years as the most sacred city for the three main monotheistic religions. We will start with the old city of Jerusalem with its 4 quarters: Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Armenian quarter and learn about each one of them. We will see the Jaffa Gate, one of the 7 accessible gates of the old city of Jerusalem; the Christian quarter; the church of the Holy Sepulcher and the via dolorosa (the way of the cross); the Muslim Quarter with the Al Aqsa mosque and the dome of the Rock; the Jewish Quarter and the Western Wall; the Armenian quarter and St. James Cathedral. We will continue to walk inside the old city markets between the different neighborhoods to experience modern life in Jerusalem today. This tour is not about politics or religions in a spiritual sense: it is a journey into history, art and culture.
