La Fondazione Antonio Morra Greco promuove, sostiene e sviluppa la cultura contemporanea in tutte le sue forme, valorizzando la visione di artisti internazionali e locali, emergenti o già affermati. La Fondazione nasce nel 2003 per volontà di Maurizio Morra Greco, inaugurando la sua attività nel 2006 con una mostra dell'artista Gregor Schneider. Da allora, ospita un intenso programma di attività espositive, culturali e didattiche che contribuiscono a consolidare la propria vocazione come luogo di creazione, progettazione e produzione.Sede della Fondazione è Palazzo Caracciolo di Avellino, un edificio di fondazione cinquecentesca nel cuore del centro antico di Napoli. Dal 2008, la Fondazione diventa il primo esempio in Italia di fondazione di diritto misto, pubblico-privato, con l’adesione della Regione Campania al Consiglio di Amministrazione. Il legame con il territorio campano è parte fondamentale della mission della Fondazione: attraverso molteplici iniziative - come programmi di residenze per artisti locali, esposizioni di opere o ancora organizzazione di laboratori didattici per pubblici diversi - la Fondazione mira infatti ad instaurare un dialogo continuativo con la comunità locale.Tra le iniziative di punta troviamo EDI Global Forum, un progetto di ricerca e condivisione di esperienze, che riunisce istituzioni museali e culturali, singoli professionisti e altre figure da ogni parte del mondo operanti nel campo dell’education attraverso le lente dell’arte, al fine di instaurare confronti e co-progettazioni sui temi legati all’apprendimento e all’esperienza nell’arte.
