Joys and sorrows of the ‘young’ adult illustrator | Gioie e dolori del “giovane” illustratore adulto

Tipoteca Auditorium

lecture | The story of a professional activity that began in the analogue world and continued in the digital one, the hardships of the apprenticeship and the jobs paid in visibility. The exasperated search for one’s own style and the numerous rejected proposals. What I learned from my mistakes and what horrible little monsters my hand generated. Finally, the relationship with young illustrators, assistants, students and all those to whom I tried to teach something without realising that it was they who taught me.workshop | Ripe Types | Through the graphic design of illustrations made up of signs and backgrounds, with the integration of sans serifs and serifs, we narrate the generational clash, the old and the young, slogans and outdated ideologies and contemporary memes, gender theory and fluidity, fashion and the unfashionable... What is the visual storytelling of a serif typeface compared to a sans serif? Elena Xausa is an internationally renowned Italian illustrator and artist who, after moving to Venice, Berlin, Milan and New York, has returned to live in her home town of Marostica (Vicenza). She has lent her mark to the most important international magazines and selected brands recognised worldwide. Over the years she has continued to dedicate herself to a personal artistic research that has led her to explore the infinite possibilities of drawing and to develop her work also in the third dimension, with the creation of site-specific installations, design objects and garments. Since 2021 Elena Xausa has been teaching at Iuav Fashion Design.elenaxausa.comIn partnership with Treviso Comic Book Festival
