ENEchoes of Altitude is an immersive installation of sounds and scents: the Fonetica Glaciale project, an acoustic mapping of the Adamello glacier by sound artist Neunau, intertwined with the olfactory intervention of artist Sissel Tolaas. Together with culinary tastings prepared by Altatto, these elements will spark an intimate reflection on the mountain and evoke the sensation of altitude.The evening will open at 6.00pm with a conversation featuring Neunau, Sissel Tolaas, Giovanni Baccolo and Ruggero Pietromarchi, who will moderate the conversation, guiding the dialogue between art, research and science.Former luggage deposit in front of Gate A inside Central Station.How to find the venue: When facing Stazione Centrale, walk to the far left side of the building. Take the staircase to the left of Panino Giusto. Once upstairs, turn left — you’ll see Rossopomodoro and Wagamama. The venue is right here.---Neunau is the sound research project of artist Sergio Maggioni whose ongoing work Fonetica Glaciale transforms over 15,000 hours of sound recordings, gathered across ten expeditions to the Adamello Glacier, into an auditory experience.Sissel Tolaas is a Norwegian-Icelandic artist and scientist who has spent over three decades exploring the role of smell in human perception and memory.Giovanni Baccolo is a researcher in glaciology and cold-environment Earth sciences at the University of Roma Tre, author of I Ghiacciai Raccontano and member of the Italian Glaciological Committee.Ruggero Pietromarchi is a curator and cultural promoter, founder of Threes Productions and Terraforma festival. ITEchoes of Altitude è un’installazione immersiva tra suoni ed essenze: Fonetica Glaciale, mappatura sonora del ghiacciaio dell’Adamello realizzata del sound artist Neunau, si intreccia con l’intervento olfattivo dell’artista Sissel Tolaas. Insieme agli assaggi preparati da Altatto, questi elementi daranno vita a una riflessione intima sulla montagna, evocando la sensazione di altitudine.Ad aprire la serata alle 18.00 una conversazione con Neunau, Sissel Tolaas, Giovanni Baccolo e Ruggero Pietromarchi, che modererà la conversazione, guidando il dialogo tra arte, ricerca e scienza.Ex deposito bagagli di fronte al Gate A all'interno di Stazione Centrale.Come trovare la location: guardando la Stazione Centrale, cammina verso l'estremità sinistra dell'edificio. Prendi la scalinata alla sinistra di Panino Giusto. Una volta salito, gira a sinistra - vedrai Rossopomodoro e Wagamama. La location è proprio lì.---Neunau è il progetto di ricerca sonora dell’artista Sergio Maggioni, il cui lavoro in corso Fonetica Glaciale trasforma oltre 15.000 ore di registrazioni sonore – raccolte durante dieci spedizioni al Ghiacciaio dell’Adamello – in un’esperienza uditiva.Sissel Tolaas è un’artista e scienziata norvegese-islandese che da oltre trent’anni esplora il ruolo dell’olfatto nella percezione e nella memoria umana.Giovanni Baccolo è ricercatore in glaciologia e scienze della Terra in ambienti freddi presso l’Università Roma Tre, autore di I Ghiacciai raccontano e membro del Comitato Glaciologico Italiano.Ruggero Pietromarchi è curatore e promotore culturale, fondatore di Threes Productions e del festival Terraforma.
