About this event
Insightful and gluttonous one hour and a half food tour will take you on a journey through the streets of Verona, exploring the local cuisine and culture. Our English speaking tour guide, born and raised in Verona, will lead you through the historic city center to discover some of the city's most delicious and traditional spots.
Our first stop will be at the Gastronomia Doc&Dop to sample a selection of cured hams, cheeses and vegetable patès from Sicily.
For the cheese lovers a selection of Monte Veronese, a semi-hard cheese that is produced in the local hills and has a distinctive flavor.
We will move outside the crowd in a local bakery to sample a selection of street style pizzas and focaccias (salty oil bread). We will pop by a local butcher too.
After a short walk through the picturesque streets of Verona, we will stop at the oil mill Redoro shop. Lake Garda keeps the climate perfect to grow olives, so enjoy a bruschetta with this liquid gold and 2 patès.
At a local chocolatier, we will sample some old fashion pistacchio sweets, the traditional sbrisolona cake or some buiscuits from Lessinia.
Verona is famous for its Valpolicella wines where Corte Saibante winery is located. They produce less than 10.000 bottles per year keeping a high quality. We will stop by their tasting room near the Arena where a sommelier will explain and serve 2 tastings of Valpolicella.
As we walk through Verona's historic center, our tour guides will share stories and insights into the city's history and culture, making this food tour an unforgettable experience for all participants. The final stop will be in the family shop that produces and sells Pandoro, Verona most famous cake.
