Event description

Description

In the effort to make Venice accessible and sustainable for all, our Association is currently developing wheelchair accessible tours, currently working on the development of tours for blind or visually impaired Travelers, and tours for deaf Travelers who need ASL interpreters.

We have already tested an accessible tour for our Guests who may be restricted in their mobility or who are traveling in an wheelchair. The tour starts on Fondamenta delle Zattere next to the Boat Stop Zattere (boat lines: 5.1, 5.2, 6) at 11.00 AM, lasts about two hours and end at Punta della Dogana. Please book the tour at least 24 hours in advance, in order to give us time to arrange it for you. Sailing along Fondamenta delle Zattere, in the District of Dorsoduro, you will have the opportunity to admire the Island of Giudecca, the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, Punta della Dogana, the Church of Madonna della Salute, and Bacino of San Marco, where Canal Grande and Canale della Giudecca meet. We will let you discover Venice the way the locals know it, sharing with you its history, secrets and mysteries that made it one of the most sought after cities in the world.

Not only we make it easier for Travelers with motoric disabilities to enjoy Venice, but we also offer a fully equipped boat at your disposal at a very low price which covers the costs of the gas for each tour and contributes to the maintenance of the boat and its accessories. Donations are welcome.

Please contact us at least 24 hours prior to your boat tour, through our website www.jmwalkingtour.org or by e-mail to info@jmwalkingtour.org. On request, we can also provide boat transfers and other boat tours in the lagoon, specially designed for slow walkers and wheelchair users.
