Fondazione Sozzaniè un’istituzione culturale costituita a Milano da Carla Sozzani nel 2016 per la promozione della fotografia, della cultura, della moda e delle arti. La Fondazione ha assunto il patronato della Galleria Carla Sozzani e prosegue il percorso dell’importante funzione pubblica che la galleria svolge dal 1990. Dal 2021 Sara Sozzani Maino cura e coordina i progetti dedicati all’educazione, responsabilità e ai creativi di nuova generazione.Fondazione Sozzaniwas established in 2016 by Carla Sozzani and is dedicated to the promotion of culture through photography, fashion, the fine arts, and applied arts. The Foundation has assumed the patronage of Galleria Carla Sozzani and continues all relevant public functions that the Gallery has supported since 1990. Since 2021 Sara Sozzani Maino has curated and coordinated projects dedicated to education, responsibility and the next generation of creatives.

Fondazione Sozzani presenta Thread, sabato 6 e domenica 7 settembre in via Tazzoli 3 a Milano.

THREAD è un atelier vivente, al centro del progetto permanente di moda circolare della Fondazione Sozzani, un luogo dove il gesto sartoriale torna protagonista. THREAD è un atelier condiviso, una sartoria collettiva, dove giovani realtà e nuovi talenti sono invitati a esprimere la propria visione attraverso l’arte artigianale del cucito: tagliare, modellare, esprimere la propria visione. Gli strumenti si condividono, lo spazio si apre, e il filo - come sempre - unisce. Il tavolo da sartoria, posizionato al centro dello spazio, è il cuore di THREAD: è qui che i capi vengono creati o reinventati, nascono o si trasformano ed è qui che le storie vengono cucite dal sarto, l’artigiano, il modellista. I visitatori possono scegliere il modello, il taglio, il tessuto e assistere al processo creativo. Possono partecipare e diventare parte della creazione e co-autori di capi che raccontano la loro storia. Ogni capo nasce da una conversazione e si conclude con qualcosa di unico, cucito su misura, pensato per raccontare chi li indossa.THREAD is a living atelier at the core of the Fondazione Sozzani's permanent circular fashion project, a place where tailoring takes centre stage. THREAD is a shared atelier, a collective tailor's shop, where the new generation of creatives and new brands are invited to express their vision through the art of tailoring and the craft of sewing: cutting, shaping, expressing their vision. Here, new voices are welcomed to sit at the table, to cut, to shape, to sew. The tools are shared, the space is open, and the thread - as always - unites. The tailoring table, positioned in the centre of the space, is the heart of THREAD: it is here that garments are created or reinvented, born or transformed, and it is here that stories are sewn together by the tailor, the craftsman, the pattern maker. Visitors can choose the model, the cut, the fabric and witness the creative process. They can participate and become part of the creation and become co-authors of garments that tell their story. Each garment is born from a conversation and ends up as something unique, tailor-made, designed to tell the story of the wearer.
