About this event
Speaking Dante – Milan is an 80 minute live-stage performance of highlights from The Divine Comedy. It includes sublime poetry from Dante’s La Vita Nuova - written in his pre-exile years.
Live readings in both the Italian and English languages will be read by acclaimed English and Italian actors and poets, including: Justin Butcher, Francesca Mazzotta, Jan Noble, Janice Acquah, and Simone Migliorini, with a video contribution from the renowned actor John Nettles.
The on-stage performances are heightened by scenic art contributed by William Blake, Gabriele Dell’Otto, Gustave Doré, and Felice Limosani. The sound and music are by Sebastian Frost and Damian Hale. Your patronage will help the charity work of The Community of Sant'Egidio, which offers Italian language and integration courses specifically for refugees and migrants in Italy.
