The event Re-think Circular Economy Forum has been designed to present a vision on Circular Economy topics and main projects ongoing.

About this Event

Re-think Circular Economy Forum is an international event that brings together various actors operating at different levels in the Circular Economy. Companies, startups, research institutes, and other organizations will illustrate practical paths that can lead to the creation of innovative and entrepreneurial projects related to the Circular Economy.

The event can be accessed online by everyone. Only the speakers and the main stakeholders will present at the event location, the 27th of October at the Catholic University of Milan, and the 28th of October at the Triennale of Milan.

The focus will be on 4 main topics:

  • Agri-food: agriculture 4.0, new types of cultivation such as Indoor and Vertical farming, and new methods of food preservation and transportation;
  • Cities: urban context organized in a circular way, presenting actual projects, but also possible future trends with a focus on smart cities, mobility, biocycle & waste, urban, water, and air;
  • Materials: biomaterials that are increasingly replacing synthetic ones, emerging practices in the reuse and regeneration of materials (organic and synthetic) and future trends in material science;
  • Technologies: emerging technologies that overturn the concept of waste and optimize the use of resources with a focus on AI, IoT, blockchain, clean energy, storage, and digital application for the Circular Economy.

Every topic will have a specific session during the days, particularly the agri-food session will be covered on the 27th and the other 3 on the 28th. In each session, there will be:

  • 2 experts showing the futuristic trends and their vision on the topic;
  • 4-5 companies and startups showing their approach, business cases, and vision for the future.

Some of the companies, startups, and institutions confirmed as speakers for the event are: Studio Boeri, ASviS, Enel X, IBM Intesa, Fondazione Cariplo, Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, Bain & Company, European Commission, Politecnico di Milano, Comune di Milano, A2A, OECD, CNR, Sympower, Physee, Small Revolution, Alisea, RiceHouse, Matrec, Arup, Università Cattolica, Neoruralehub, Camera di Commercio di Milano, Monza, Brianza e Lodi.

The event will start on October 27th in the afternoon at 5 pm with the Agri-food session. The next day the event will start with the Cities session in the morning at 9.30 am, followed by a roundtable on the supporting ecosystem to the Circular Economy before lunch. In the afternoon there will be first the Materials session and later the Technologies session.

Main partners of the event are: Fondazione Cariplo, Catholic University of Milan, IBM Intesa, Triennale of Milan, Consulate General of the Netherlands in Milan, Royal Danish Embassy, Novu, ALMED, ALTIS. The event will be completely in English, once registered, one week before the event a link to access the event online will be sent.
