• Ways of Storytelling looks to highlight the changing ways in which we visualize and consume information, while also drawing attention to new ways of thinking and approaching the topic of journalism in our global media landscape.

• How are the stories being told? The talk will address what is being done to challenge and subvert the framings.

• What are the stories being told? Who is telling these stories? How are these stories being framed?

Talk moderated by Kathy Moran.

Roundtable Conversation about Environmental Issues | Time 17:00 – 17:30 | Teatro dei Rinnovati

Talk about fighting climate change. Albert Einstein said “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”

Many are concerned about the future of our planet and unless we can find a way of solving the problems then the environment will suffer.

Most important thing you can do to fight climate change: talk about it.

Talk moderated by Kathy Moran.

Ami Vitale: Shaba The Elephant | Time 17:40 – 18:10 | Teatro dei Rinnovati

A group of women and an elephant named Shaba can change each other’s lives. The talk is a powerful reminder that we are a part of a complex world created over millions of years, and the survival of all species is intertwined with our own.

Peter Mather: Urban Foxes and Ice Grizzlies | Ore 18:20 – 18:50 | Teatro dei Rinnovati

Talk is about his last two projects to capture foxes in their not-so-natural habitats of Whitehorse in Canada while adapting and living with people and to catch grizzlies fishing for salmon in southwestern Yukon, around Klukshu village, by using 12 remote camera traps for two years.

Dan Winters: Photography as a personal medium of expression | Ore 19:00 – 19:30 | Teatro dei Rinnovati

Dan Winters speaks about what makes a great portrait. An image can be good in its technique, and you can explain why that particular image is good to people, but ultimately it’s about how it’s going to resonate with you emotionally.
