About this Event
The European Institute on Economics and the Environment leverages two leading international centers for economic and environmental research: Resources for the Future – RFF and Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change – CMCC.
The institute's mission is to improve environmental, energy, and natural resource decisions through impartial economic research and policy engagement. The institute is committed to being a central focal point for research insights and policy solutions within Europe, and connecting that work internationally.
The launch of RFF-CMCC EIEE will be take place oInvitation 11 June 2019 n 11 June 2019 in the presence of both presidents of RFF and CMCC. Furthermore, the event will be honored by the presence of Prof. William Nordhaus, 2018 Nobel Laureate in Economics for his contributions on the relationship between climate change and economic growth.
The Nobel keynote will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Carlo Carraro, President Emeritus and Professor at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Executive Council Chair of EIEE, and including:
- Jos Delbeke, former Director-General at EC Directorate-General "Climate Action",
- Ottmar Edenhofer, Professor at the Technical University of Berlin and Director and Chief Economist of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research,
- Karina Litvack, Non-Executive Director of Eni
- Stefano Venier, CEO of Hera Group,
- Gianmario Verona, Rector of Bocconi University.
