This tour takes us more than 3,500 years into the past to the Late Bronze Age, when Hattusa thrived as a bustling centre of political power, trade, and cultural exchange.
Located in central Anatolia, modern Turkey, Hattusa is best known for its mighty fortifications, magnificent temples, and intricate city planning. We will visit the Great Temple, the Lion Gate, and the Royal Palace, shedding light on the impressive engineering and artistic skills of Hittite society.
Beyond the engineering marvels, we will see how the Hittites interacted with their neighbours and adversaries, and delve into the daily life of Hattusa’s inhabitants, witnessing the rich religious traditions and the intricate social structures of this ancient city.
