About this event

DIY Intimate and Reproductive Technologies

Come join us at The Nucleus Building, The University of Edinburgh for a hands-on exploration of DIY Intimate and Reproductive Technologies!

In this workshop we will explore DIY and feminist approaches to intimate and reproductive technologies.

From menstrual trackers, biosensors, homemade contraceptives to DIY fertility tracking, we will speculate on and discuss how the open-source hardware community can craft these technologies collectively, and think about the ethical implications and feminist utopian possibilities of free, accessible and safe technologies for all bodies.

The workshop is led by ALMA Futura and Nadia Campo Woytuk.

ALMA Futura is a studio who combines design, education, anthropology and science to co-create tools for a radical cultural change in female intimate health, care and prevention. Founders Isabel Farina and Giulia Tomasello.

Nadia Campo Woytuk is a PhD researcher based in Stockholm, Sweden, working with feminist perspectives of intimate technologies.
