About this event
On Thursday 9 February at 7pm, exhibition curators Sara Cluggish and Pavel S. Pyś will guide visitors through the exhibition K̶i̶n̶g̶d̶o̶m̶ of the Ill. This tour will focus on a selection of artworks and artists and will give insight into the exhibition's key concepts and themes.
K̶i̶n̶g̶d̶o̶m̶ of the Ill showcases 20 artists whose works, realised over the past five years, explore the topics of health, illness, care and contamination. In this post-pandemic context, the exhibition is based on the lived experiences of artists, some of whom identify as chronically ill or disabled. Some use their artistic practice to question the way in which the healthy and unhealthy body is defined - and by whom.
How do government and corporate welfare systems determine an individual's experience of care and healing? How do we break down the definition of the 'healthy' body? Which are the emotional aspects of experiencing illness, caring, dependency and grief?
➡️ The guided tour is free of charge. Registration required
➡️ The tour will be held in English
