The Social Observatory for Disinformation and Social Media Analysis (SOMA) was launched in 2018 to provide support to a European community of researchers, fact-checkers, media organizations, communication experts and other stakeholders to jointly fight disinformation in a constantly evolving disinformation panorama. SOMA has set up the European Observatory against Disinformation (https://www.disinfobservatory.org/ - @SOMAObservatory) which now involves a community of around 90 organisations mostly but not only from Europe, working together in common investigations against cases of disinformation. As the project is approaching its end, the closing event represents an occasion to gather international experts to discuss the latest developments in the field of disinformation and present activities that are geared against it.
