The church, called the "Church of the Three Councils," is part of the Papal Stables architectural complex, near the hill where the Presidency of the Republic is located.

The church's compact size lends itself to chamber music. Stravinsky stated: "The fewer the musicians, the smaller the distance between the musicians and the audience," and the Church of San Silvestro, intimate and compact, enjoys exceptional acoustics that allow for an immersive experience
