Ever wanted to design your own typeface, but wondered where to start?
This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to get started designing type. Go beyond choosing the same typefaces from the type menu to creating your own! In this two-day class, you’ll learn the basics of designing and generating a variable font with font-design software Glyphs (Mac only).
Course schedule
Classes take place from 9:00 to 17:00 with a short lunch break.
On the first day we will be in classroom C0.4 from 9:00 to 12:30 and in classroom A0.3 from 14:00 to 17:00. On the second day in classroom T.1.1 from 9:00 to 17:00.
Course materials and projects (IMPORTANT):
All you need is a stable internet connection and a Mac. You’ll get a free trial version of Glyphs 3.
It’s essential for the course that you bring your MacBook with Glyphs already installed. You will also need a USB adapter for Mac.

Please note that Glyphs does not run on Windows PCs. You’ll also receive a free trial license of Glyphs 3.
Capacity
The course is open to a maximum of 15 participants. This ensures that each student gets ample time for feedback.
