WORKSHOP HI-BOOK

It’s possible combine the “book” object with the most advanced interactive technologies?
The workshop provides resources and knowledge to animate and make sensitive text and images through learning Vvvv software and direct reading devices like a webcam.

The workshop offers the opportunity to experiment, play and know the new technologies for the realization of an editorial footprint. It is an opportunity to reflect on the “book” object in an innovative way combining different expressive means.

∎ Contents
• Augmented Reality: to get amazing results pop up "digital"
• Fiducial Tracking: Used as a bookmark to get more visual information
• Color Tracking: Modify the atmosphere of the pages by reading the text

∎ Program
1. Learn about the main features of Vvvv software, find a book, page assignment, and create content with images, videos, and sounds.
2. Processing of the collected elements, starting from the themes of the book, proof of relationship between pages and digital images matched to the construction of a storytelling.
3. Grouping projects, creating an interactive book and organizing tests with presentation.

Participation Requirements
No specific knowledge required: The course starts with teaching the basics of the program used and the interactive environment with reference to contemporary art.
Each participant must have their own computer with OS Windows (for those with Macs can do the partition with Bootcamp) and download the software from https://vvvv.org/downloads (32bit + addons 32bit version). Also install https://www.videolan.org/ and bring a three-button
mouse.

Martìn Romeo is an Italian-Argentinian visual artist, based in Venice, whose research is directed to interactive art, ranging from video installations and performing arts.
Artistic Director and founder of the Toolkit Festival of Venice and the Screening Festival of Trieste, he exposed his works in various European and International contexts. He teaches new artistic forms related to interactive technology in different Universities, both in Italy and abroad.
Recently he represented the Italy in the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan, and he has been included in the collection of the World Expo Museum in Shanghai, China.
