Lo tsumami zaiku, l’arte del pizzicare, è una tecnica risalente al 1600 che viene utilizzata ancora oggi da pochi maestri in Giappone per creare i fermagli floreali che possiamo vedere sulle acconciature delle maiko (le apprendiste geisha) e delle ragazze che indossano il kimono, durante eventi come lauree, festeggiamenti della maggiore età o matrimoni. In questo workshop andremo a creare una spilla-fermacapelli primaverile con quest’arte: verranno spiegate la storia e le origini, i materiali tradizionali e le due principali tecniche di piegatura. Richiesta una buona manualità.

Tsumami zaiku is a technique dating back to the 1600s that is still used today by a small number of experts in Japan to create the floral clips that we see on the hairstyles of maiko (apprentice geishas) and girls who wear kimonos at events such as graduations, coming-of-age celebrations or weddings. In the workshop we will use this technique to create a brooch-hair clip for spring and explain the history, origins, traditional materials and the two main folding techniques. Good manual dexterity required.
