SEEDS - International Symposium of Landscape Urbanism
16 - 17 December, 2022
Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci, Urban Center
V.le della Repubblica, 277, 59100 Prato PO
Twenty-five years after the first symposium on Landscape Urbanism in Chicago, Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci and the Urban Center of the city of Prato, with the sponsorship of Ordine degli Architetti di Prato, present two days of discussion on the theme of Landscape Urbanism, with the International Symposium SEEDS.
Beyond the rhetoric of the green, the landscape is - in itself - a factor of conflict. It is an alterity both with respect to the inhabited world and with respect to the world of design, questioning the codes, aesthetics, tools and words we use.
From this point of view, "Seeds" questions the critical and original meanings of the landscape and our way of inhabiting the Earth, and proposes 3 interrogative sessions: The right to space; The asymmetries of the contemporary world and the new globalizations; The new aesthetics and the new codes.
The International Symposium "Seeds" brings together three round tables with Italian and international speakers active today in the field of Landscape Urbanism. The articulation of the program is foreseen in online and in presence modality, and alternates in the two main sections of the symposium (16-17 December afternoon), a workshop open to students and professionals as a moment of reflection and participation in the theme (17 December morning).
