In this special joint event with Milano Kafka Meetup, Riccardo Tommasini, PhD Candidate @ PoliMi will give an overview of the following foundational papers
- The CQL continuous query language: semantic foundations and query execution (Arasu et al., 2006)
- The dataflow model: a practical approach to balancing correctness, latency, and cost in massive-scale, unbounded, out-of-order data processing (Akidau et al., 2015)
- Streams and tables: Two sides of the same coin (Sax et al., 2018)
The meeting will be preceded by Waiting for Papers We Love, where Riccardo and prof. Emanuele Della Valle will host a longer-winded introduction to the papers listed above, with students and other guest professors from PoliMi. Participation to Waiting for Papers We Love is not required to attend the main event.

Speaker. Riccardo Tommasini is a Research fellow at the University of Tartu, Estonia. Riccardo did his PhD at the Department of Electronics and Information of the Politecnico di Milano. His research interests span Stream Processing, Knowledge Graphs, Logics and Programming Languages. Riccardo's Teaching activities include Interoperability and Semantic Technologies, Middleware Technologies, Principles of Programming Languages, and Knowledge Engineering, Big Data (Tartu, Estonia).
