Il secondo workshop di public speaking di PyCon Italia: una giornata dedicata alla formazione di developer e di persone appassionate di Python e di tecnologia che vogliono parlare in pubblico a conferenze, eventi, meetup e a lavoro.

Vorresti raccontare un tuo progetto ad una conferenza, ma non ti senti a proprio agio? Questo è il workshop che fa per te! Ti piacerebbe parlare di un argomento che ti appassiona, condividere questa esperienza in un talk ma hai paura di parlare in pubblico? Non ti preoccupare questo corso ti aiuterà ad abbattere tutte le tue paure e a metterti in gioco come speaker.

Qual è il programma del corso?

Il corso si svolgerà il 22 Maggio a Firenze, presso Il Grand Hotel Mediterraneo, via Lungarno del Tempio, 44. Sarà articolato in sessioni frontali, momenti di condivisione di esperienze ed esercitazioni pratiche. Avremo cura, con l’aiuto del docente Lorenzo Barbieri, di modellare le attività del corso sulla base della classe che ci troveremo di fronte, così da decidere insieme se dedicare più tempo a uno specifico argomento o esercizio.

Durante il workshop vedremo:

• Come gestire il tempo, perchè una presentazione da 5 minuti è totalmente diversa da una di qualche ora;
• Come prepararsi: come scegliere l’argomento, partecipare ad una call for papers, strutturare la presentazione;
• Come presentare le slide;
• Come gestire le proprie emozioni, la propria ansia, come interagire con il pubblico e trasmettere (tramite il linguaggio del corpo) un messaggio coerente con quello che si sta dicendo;
• Come trasmettere il messaggio giusto per l’interlocutore o gli interlocutori che si hanno di fronte.;
• Come darsi i giusti obiettivi in funzione dei risultati che vogliamo ottenere, degli interlocutori, e soprattutto del nostro percorso e della nostra credibilità;
• Come migliorare il nostro personal brand per integrare e complementare le sessioni o gli incontri;
• Cosa cambia quando dobbiamo fare una presentazione in un’altra lingua;
• Quali parole possiamo usare e quali assolutamente no.

Chi può partecipare al corso?

Tutte le persone appassionate di tecnologia e di Python. Non sono richiesti prerequisiti.

Il corso è a pagamento?

No, il corso è gratuito e offerto da PyCon Italia.

Come funziona il processo di iscrizione?

Per iscriversi al corso è necessario compilare questo modulo fornendo alcuni dati. La compilazione di questo modulo non garantisce un posto nel workshop, ma ci permette di selezionare le persone al momento in cui ci siano tante iscrizioni. Riceverete un'e-mail di conferma della vostra partecipazione il 2 maggio. Daremo priorità a tutte le persone iscritte alla conferenza PyCon 2024 e al workshop Django Girls Florence.

PyCon Italy's second public speaking workshop: a day dedicated to training developers and people passionate about Python and technology who want to speak in public at conferences, events, meetups and work.

Would you like to tell a story about your project at a conference, but don't feel comfortable? This is the workshop for you! Would you like to talk about a topic you are passionate about, share this experience in a talk but are afraid of public speaking? Don't worry, this course will help you break down all your fears and make you a super speaker!

What's the course programme?

The course will be scheduled on 22 May in Florence, at the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo, via Lungarno del Tempio, 44. It will be divided into frontal sessions, moments of experience sharing, and practical exercises. We will take care, with the help of trainer Lorenzo Barbieri, to model the course activities on the basis of the class we will be facing, so as to decide together whether to dedicate more time to a specific topic or exercise.

During the workshop we will see:

• How to manage time, because a 5 minutes presentation is totally different from a few hours;
• How to prepare: how to choose the topic, participate in a call for papers, structure the presentation;
• How to present slides;
• How to manage your emotions, your anxiety, how to interact with the audience and transmit (through body language) a message consistent with what you are saying;
• How to convey the right message to the interlocutor or interlocutors in front of you;
• How to set the right goals according to the results we want to achieve, the interlocutors, and especially our path and our credibility;
• How to improve our personal brand to complement and complement the sessions or meetings;
• What changes when we are not in person but online, or when we have to make a presentation in another language;
• Which words should be used and which absolutely not.

Who can attend the course?

All people who are passionate about technology and Python! No prerequisites are required.

Is there a course fee?

No, the course is free and offered by PyCon Italia.

How does the registration process work?

To enroll in the course you will need to fill this form providing some details. Filling in the above form does not guarantee a place in the workshop but allows us to select people at the time when there were so many registrations. You will receive an email confirming your participation on May 2nd. We will give priority to all people enrolled in the Pycon 2024 conference and the Django Girls Florence workshop.

- The workshop has a limited number of participants.
