Bradley Hasse’s comedic style has been described by The Young Director Review as “seriously wacky, totally weird and rather wonderful” and has led him to work with global clients from Duracell, MTV, Listerine, Yahoo! to Dos Equis and with musical artists including Moby, Gramatik, and RJD2.Brad recently filmed his first feature film Songs for a Sloth on a shoestring budget of $20k. Completing this massive task with limited resources, Brad used some unique techniques to be prepared for this shoot. One big source of inspiration was PIXAR, which uses a method of testing the story repeatedly during pre-production, in front of their “brain trust,” in order to continually sharpen the film into the best product possible. During the lecture, this process will be discussed. Brad will share examples from this feature film as well as from commercial projects he has directed for various global brands, which goes all the way back to his time at Fabrica where he directed his first commercial campaign.
Songs for a Sloth, Brad’s feature film directorial debut, is a drama/comedy that has taken home the Best Feature Award at Paris Play Film Festival and Venice Film Awards amongst other accolades and will be released this summer .
