Informazioni sull'evento
How can a city be gender inclusive and equal? Let’s learn from the best practices! The webinar is aimed at sharing knowledge on best practices in promoting gender equality in local governments.
About this event Torino Città per le Donne, TOxD (Turin City for Women) is proud to present a panel of inspiring local policymakers, who will explore how gender equality is being promoted in the administration of the cities they represent.
Torino Città per le Donne is a non-governmental women’s organisation driven by the mission to promote gender equality at the local level, in partnership with local communities and civic organisations, local stakeholders, national, European and international institutions and NGOs. In the past few months, TOXD has carried out a study on gender mainstreaming within the planning and administration of local governments, analysing international and European best practices, among which Barcelona (Spain), Ümea (Sweden), Montréal (Canada), the Pais Vasco and Vienna (Austria).
The research is supported by Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo. Gender equality at the local level implies promoting women’s leadership at all political and management levels, collecting and monitoring gender data, and adopting a governance model to evaluate and shape policies and actions in all sectors to generate positive impacts on women’s lives, wellbeing and opportunities, designing and realizing inclusive public spaces and services, training staff, involving and engaging with local and women’s organisations.
