We live for a day with the shepherds and discover the wonders of an ancient natural world.

The ancient traditions of Sardinia still live and they are jealously guarded by shepherds. They have a life devoted to nature, pure and healthy energy.

What we'll do

The day begins with the rendez-vous and with the short trip to the shepherd's farm, our friend. During the trip you can admire the hills that inhabited ancient prehistoric villages, which later originated in the village of Osilo.

The shepherd's farm is immersed in total peace, away from the hectic and chaotic life of the city.

The feast of the fleecing of sheep in June, the making of cheese and ricotta with old tools in copper and iron as per tradition, cooking the countryside delicacies and eating together are life experiences that we all should try.

Shepherd making cheese

We will see the pastor at work. He will make cheese and he will show us all the passages and all the secrets to getting the extraordinary pecorino cheese and cottage cheese: the making, the tools, the history, the salty bath, the storage.

We will taste the just made ricotta and if you want you can buy cheese in the farm as well.

We go thus on the discovery of a pristine natural life, made of ancient cultures a thousand miles away from modern stresses and the suffocating everyday life of the city.

In the afternoon you can have a healthy walk through the hills of the country to admire and photograph a fantastic landscape.

At the end of the morning we move to the nearby countryside to have lunch together with friends.

*One per group (but no worries 'coz it is a very abundant meal)

- Sardinian cold cuts and preserves
- Cheese cooked and lemon (shepher-made cheese - hob cooked)
- Smocked ricotta (shepherd-made)

- Gnocchetti Pasta with tomato and meat sauce
- Pane Zichi with tomato sauce
- Orecchiette pasta with fresh ricotta (shepherd-made)

- Typical sardinian beacon (bbq)
- Piglet in sardinian way cooked (hob)
- Little Lemb (wood oven or hob)
- Sheep Stew (hob)

- Fresh ricotta with honey
- Sardinian typical Seadas (homemade)

Where we'll be


The village - Osilo

A center of primary importance until the beginning of the twentieth century, it is gradually depopulated while still preserving its traditions. The village, dominated by the ruins of the medieval castle of Malaspina, where two towers and the perimeter walls are preserved, rises on one of the three summits of Mount Tuffudesu. In its territory, part of the judgments of Torres, there were several villages in the Middle Ages, including the one of Tilikennor, in the valley of Acchettas, identifiable with the ruins of the church of San Pietro de su Littu.


There are 2 kind of ticket:
- Your Own Car means that you will come by yourself to a rendez-vous point and then following us
- By Our Ride means that we will come to pick you to your accomodation and we will bring you back at the end

Please, look for the date you wish to get a Shepherd's Day and so you may select the right ticket for you.

Please, consider that we can plan together custimised days if you are a 3 people at least.
